Get Up! Get Out! Get Moving!
Childhood obesity is a growing problem in America, but you can make a difference!  The 2011 Leadership Fellows Class created a PowerPoint presentation for orthopaedic surgeons to use in their hometown communities to help educate students about the importance of healthy eating, daily exercise, and the Academy’s Get Up! Get Out! Get Moving campaign.  A short presentation, sample handouts, and a template letter-to-the-editor can be downloaded and used by any AAOS Fellow (password-protected).

Download this template letter-to-the-editor about the STOP Sports Injuries campaign, then personalize it with your name and practice information.  Once complete, send it your hometown newspaper, call the assignment desks at local television stations to tell them about overuse injuries, and offer yourself as a spokesperson.  If you have questions about using this template, please contact media@aaos.org (password-protected).
